New Publication: Enej Silvij Piccolomini: Early Humanistic Writings and Records of the Slovenian Territory

Last Friday, our current PhD student Anja Božič launched her new book Enej Silvij Piccolomini: Early Humanistic Writings and Records of the Slovenian Territory (Enej Silvij Piccolomini: Zgodnji humanistični spisi in zapisi o slovenskem ozemlju). The book presents the writings of Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini (1405–1464), who became Pope Pius II.
Anja and her co-author Jan Dominik Bogataj were joined by professors Marko Marinčič and Aleš Maver at the Franciscan Library in Ljubljana to discuss Piccolomini's life and legacy. According to one review, the book is " a key contribution to Slovenian knowledge of the intellectual, cultural, state-political and ecclesiastical political history of the Renaissance period" (vsekakor za ključen prispevek k slovenskemu poznavanju intelektualne, kulturne, državnopolitične in cerkvenopolitične zgodovine renesančnega obdobja).
