We are proud to announce that our recent PhD graduate, Ewelina Sikora, won the Polish Studies Association's dissertation prize, awarded at the 56th Annual Convention of the Association for Slavic, East European & Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) in Boston, 21-24 November. The prize is awarded every two years for the best Polish-themed English-language PhD thesis in any discipline or methodology.

Ewelina’s dissertation — “Table Set for Diplomats: Food, Drink, and Politics in Poland-Lithuania’s Diplomatic Relations, 1674–1696” — is a comparative study of early modern diplomacy. Ewelina’s research combines the burgeoning field of food history with the new diplomatic history, offering a novel approach to studying Polish-Lithuanian foreign relations in their complex seventeenth-century entanglements.
We congratulate Ewelina on this great achievement.
