Katalin Szende is currently working on multilingualism in the cities and towns of East Central Europe in a Eurasian context, and is Director of the Cultural Heritage Studies program.
She supervises the following doctoral dissertations:
- Daria Ageeva (Were There Plenty of Fish in the Sea? Preindustrial Fisheries of the Eastern Adriatic in the Time of Climate Change)
- Karsten Johannes Schuil (Senses, Storytelling, Landscape, Temporality and Emotions: Experiences of Rompilgerfahrt in the Late Medieval Period (1300-1520s))
- Michał Machalski (Loyalty, Trust and Authority in Fragmented Poland (12th-13th centuries))
