Cult of Saints and Devotion

The veneration and cult of saints and holy figures have been an integral part of Christian beliefs, practices, and literature from Late Antiquity to the present day. In a similar manner, the cult and perception of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Christ, remains central to many denominations and cultures while being rejected by others. The following bibliography, videos, and resources explore the cult of holy figures throughout cultures and time, based on the material covered in the relevant classes.
