CEU is holding its very first Digital Humanities Festival on December 4, 2025 at the Auditorium.
The event, funded by CLARIAH-AT, will consist of two parts:
Morning session: CLARIAH-AT Roadshow
Welcome greetings by Walter Scholger (University of Graz, CLARIAH-AT spokesperson and National Coordinator for Austria at DARIAH-EU), Prof. Ágnes Bátory (Pro-Rector for Research and Faculty and Professor of Public Policy at CEU), Dr. Alíz Horváth (Main organizer, Assistant Professor of East Asian History and Digital Humanities at CEU, CEU representative at CLARIAH-AT)
CEU Project Medley / DH at CEU - CEU in DH: Digitally-enhanced project showcase by CEU faculty and students
CLARIAH-AT Project Showcase: DH project presentations by CLARIAH-AT partner institutions from around Austria
The morning session is open to the public, including the entire CEU community and further interested parties at other institutions.
Afternoon session: Bring your project ideas - match them with digital tools
Practical workshop-style consultation session (a form of "project incubation") with the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities, followed by a collective group discussion on how these projects could fit into the larger ecosystem of the Cluster's Digital Lab.
The afternoon event is geared specifically towards members of the Cluster of Excellence EurAsian Transformations. If you would like to attend this part of the event, please make sure to fill out the relevant questionnaire at the end of the registration form to the best of your knowledge. This will make it easier for the ACDH to help you effectively. Thank you for your cooperation.
Lunch will be provided to those who attend at least the morning session.
This event will provide an excellent opportunity to bring Digital Humanities closer to the CEU community and vice versa, while also providing a networking opportunity. In addition, the event aims to bring the Cluster and CLARIAH-AT closer to each other to facilitate the creation of a more systematic framework for digital projects in the Cluster for future purposes and towards a more coherent DH strategy. Everyone is welcome, we just ask that you kindly fill out the registration form (regardless of which part of the event you would like to attend) by November 7, 2025 the latest because capacities are limited, and the ACDH also needs to prepare in advance according to the needs of the participants, who want to attend the afternoon session.
