Balázs Nagy is currently Head of Department, Department of Medieval History, Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, whist still teaching at CEU.

He supervises the following doctoral dissertations:

  • Daria Ageeva (Were There Plenty of Fish in the Sea? Preindustrial Fisheries of the Eastern Adriatic in the Time of Climate Change)
  • Samuel Beňa (War and State Formation in Late Medieval Bohemia: The Reign of George of Poděbrady (r. 1458-1471))
  • Michał Machalski (Loyalty, Trust and Authority in Fragmented Poland (12th-13th centuries))
  • Jack Wilson (The Golden Horde’s First ‘Time of Troubles,’: Political, Demographic and Environmental Crisis in the Jochid ulus after the ‘Second Mongol Invasions’ of Hungary and Poland, 1280-1300)
