Historical Studies at CEU ranges from late antiquity to the present day. Our programs have particular expertise in the histories of Central Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean, but we study everything from early modern India, to medieval Bohemia and Soviet Russia, with disciplines from art history to digitial humanities, and narratology to sound studies. We offer one- and two-year MA programs, as well as two four-year PhD programs. All our degrees are accredited in Austria and the United States, with teaching taking place in Vienna.
