The Department of Historical Studies is delighted that a Festschrift for Prof. Istvan Perczel has now been published. Polytropos: Papers on Philosophy, Religion and Eastern Christianities in Honour of Istvan Perczel's 65th Birthday reflects the breadth and depth of Prof. Perczel's academic study.
With sections on India, Christianities East and West, Byzantium, and Dionysius the Areopagite, it pays tribute to the many academic fields to which Prof. Perczel has made significant academic contributions throughout his career. It was edited by three former students of CEU's Department of Medieval Studies: Zara Pogossian, András Kraft, and Levan Gigineishvili, and Prof. Gyorgy Gereby contributed an article on "Mental Prayer in Evagrius Ponticus and Saint Ignatius of Loyala". We look forward to the book launch at CEU in the spring.
